A free account joins one studio, which is all a student in your ensemble or private studio needs: your assignments, lessons, messages and broadcasts, and their practice sharing with you. Premium ($119.99/year) lets them join up to 10 studios and adds:
- Daily plans and AI coaching read from their playing and the assignments you set
- Practice analytics: Pitch Trends, Heatmap, Pitch Journey, and Warm-Up Effect

For every 5 paying Premium students in your studio, you earn a scholarship seat: full Premium, completely free, for a student who couldn't otherwise afford it. No card and no billing, and it renews automatically while they're enrolled with you. If they later subscribe on their own, the seat returns to your pool for the next one.

No. A free Virtuosic account (accounts are for ages 13 and up) can join one studio, which is all a student in your ensemble or private studio needs: they receive your assignments, shared lesson notes, broadcasts and messages, can book lessons, and their practice data flows to your dashboard whenever their data-sharing toggle is on. Premium ($119.99/year) is optional: it lets a student join up to 10 studios (school band plus private lessons, for example) and adds the full practice toolkit — advanced pitch analytics, unlimited presets and notes, cloud sync, and AI coaching.
When you create your studio you choose a short join code (letters and numbers). Share it with your students any way you like — text, email, written on the lesson board. They enter the code in the app and send a join request; approve it with one tap and they’re on your roster. You can also invite students by email from your Students page: the email links them to your studio’s join page.
Yes. If you ever need to change your code (e.g., it leaked beyond your students), you can pick a new one from your studio settings. Existing members stay enrolled — only future joins use the new code.
Yes — a student can belong to several studios at once (for example, school band plus a private teacher). A free account can join one studio; Premium lets a student join up to 10. Each studio’s dashboard only shows its own assignments, notes, and data, and students can turn practice sharing off for each studio separately.
Their practice data stops flowing to your dashboard. Any pending lesson bookings are cancelled and their recurring lesson schedule is deactivated. Their historical data and your private lesson notes about them are retained in your records — they don’t disappear if the student returns later.
Yes. Every student has a data sharing toggle in their studio settings. When sharing is on, you see their practice data, accuracy trends, and the AI coaching summaries they receive each week — so you can verify the AI is reinforcing your teaching plan and step in if it isn’t. When sharing is off, none of that flows to your dashboard, but they’ll still be part of the roster and receive your assignments. Sharing is on when a student joins, and they can turn it off at any time.

If a scholarship student later subscribes on their own, the seat returns to your pool for the next student.
Studio works for private teachers and for directors running an ensemble. In studio settings, set Kind to Ensemble and Joining to “Auto-accept with code,” and hand the code out in rehearsal: students join on free accounts, and there’s no per-student fee. Studio is billed to one teacher, so if you need school or district billing (purchase orders, several directors under one account), reach out via the contact page and we can discuss your needs.
Studio is web-only on purpose. Apple’s App Store rules require a 15–30% commission on in-app subscriptions, which would force the Studio price up. Buying directly on virtuosic.org keeps Studio at $249.99/year flat. Once you subscribe, you sign into the same account on the iOS or Android app and everything works the same.
